The System of National Accounts presents information about the generation, distribution and use of income in the country, as well as about the accumulation of non-financial assets and the relationship among institutional sectors, national economy and the rest of the world. Its results currently encompass the current accounts and the capital account.
With the release of this document, IBGE makes available the results of the financial and the financial assets accounts in the period 2004-2009, the data of which now belong to the System of National Accounts of Brazil.
The implementation of this group of accounts is part of a project developed in partnership with the Central Bank of Brazil. In order to do so, IBGE counted on the collaboration of the Bank of Portugal and the International Monetary Fund - IMF.
Methodological information can be obtained in the publication System of National Accounts: Brazil, of the Methodological Reports Series, which follows international recommendations expressed by the United Nations Organizations, the World Bank, the Statistical Office of the European Communities - EUROSTAT, the International Monetary Fund - IMF and the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development - OECD, which appear in System of National Accounts manual of 1993.
Since 2010, the results of the financial account have been released in the annual publication System of National Accounts: Brazil.
