The Survey of Publicity and Promotion Services - PSPP investigates information about the major services supplied by enterprises providing publicity and promotion services in Brazil, having as the investigation unit the legal enterprise, i.e., that registered in the National Register of Legal Entities - CNPJ of the Federal Revenue of Brazil, and whose main revenue source is providing non-financial services associated to publicity and promotion.
The first edition of the PSPP was carried out in 2009, in partnership with the Brazilian Association of Advertisement Agencies - ABAP. The National Classification of Economic Activities - CNAE 2.0 was the base used to select agencies with 10 or more persons employed, narrowing the scope of the economic activities that comprise the segment of publicity and promotion services in the following classes: 7311-4 - Advertisement agencies; 7312-2 - Agencying of spaces for advertisement, except in communication vehicles; 7319-0 - Non-specified advertisement activities; 8230-0 - Activities of events organization, except cultural and sports; 9001-9 - Scenic arts, shows and complementary activities; and 9319-1 - Non-specified sports activities. The data were collected through Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing - CATI, in which the IBGE´s Survey Agent looked for the most qualified professional to provide the information.
In the 2009 edition, the survey raised variables comprising the following aspects: major products and services supplied by enterprises, highlighted by advertisement agencies; types of advertisement campaigns; and major segments addressed by these agencies.
The periodicity of the survey is eventual. The geographic scope is national, with results released for Brazil.
