The series was started in 2012.

The series of indicators of physical production by intensity of expenditure on electricity has been designed to offer one more instrument to analyze the sector's performance. Thus, the IBGE presents the products belonging to the Monthly Survey of Industry - Physical Production, according to major economic categories, classified by the participation of expenditures in the purchase of electricity in relation to the value of industrial manufacturing, based on the data from the Annual Survey of Industry – Enterprise 2010. The series began in January 2012.
The special index series of Typical Input for Civil Construction aims at generating information about the production dynamics of the construction sector, providing more elements to portray the evolution of this sector in the short term. Therefore, the PIM-PF products related with the production of the construction sector were joined in the series, which started in January 2012.
